Life happens as do crazy things at what seems like the very worst timing. Now I believe that sometimes, God allows us to go around the mountains until we have discovered to truly rely on him.
So I look at this season in my families life, and think ok we've been through things like this before. But this time? Oh my gosh, we have undeniable peace, joy, comfort, gosh life feels pretty good right now? And people around me are probably thinking you're absolutely nuts Jamie! How are you not freaking out and being stressed out.
Because now, I truly believe that God is actually my provider. There is no one else that can provide like he can.
So what happened? My husband lost his job, I have some sort of Kidney infection going on, all of the rain has made water back into my washer lines, and our air conditioner broke over the weekend.
But God is providing in every single way imaginable.
He is giving my husband new opportunities...better opportunities for employment. He is meeting our physical needs every single day. He is providing in His timing financially. I went to see what bills we had coming up when my husband got fired and we have been able to cover all of them so far. We even had enough to cover one I had forgotten about!! Talk about God's amazing grace right there!!
The bible says in Nehemiah 8:10 that the joy of the Lord is our strength. He has given our daughter this incredible joy that is the core of her being and He is using her to remind of us that joy everyday. She comes up with the silliest, craziest, wonderful things to say and I know it the Lord working through her and she doesn't even realize what gifts she has yet.
I went to a womens bible study Saturday night, talking about being the bride of Christ and she read Isaiah 43:18-21 which is one passage that has always resonated with me. It says:
18 “But forget all that—
it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
19 For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
20 The wild animals in the fields will thank me,
the jackals and owls, too,
for giving them water in the desert.
Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland
so my chosen people can be refreshed.
21 I have made Israel for myself,
and they will someday honor me before the whole world.
The reason we are ok, despite circumstances...is because he has created rivers in our wasteland of uncontrollable circumstances.
Lets look at the dynamics of a river real quick. The are continuous, they do not have muddy water but clean, refreshing, thrist quenching water. That is all of who God is ladie!!
He is a good good father. And no maybe your situation right now doesn't feel good, but hun let me assure you that all of this brokenness and heartache is a part of His plan for us. We may not see it or even understand what is really going on in the bigger picture, but hun please, please don't give up. I know that it is hard to count it all joy, but we're not God. Don't try to fill his place with your place. Hand over the control to let him restore you.
