Look at that first work again and break it down- - - - > "I'M Perfectly" Unique.
When you first look at the words imperfectly unique……it looks a little odd….discouraging even.
Imperfect according to Webster dictionary means: defective, incomplete, unfinished, not perfect, or characterized by fault
When we remember the story about Adam and Eve …. how they ate the apple then BAM the end of humanity being “perfect and without sin.”
But what if in being imperfect there really was perfection. What if in our sinful nature God saw us as perfectly unique.
Back in the day when a king would receive gifts of treasure he would cherish it so much that he would put it in a treasure room to preserve it and keep it out of the external weather elements and hide it from outsiders who wanted to steal it.
When God sees us….we are treasures to him. Unique in our shapes, in our personality, in our thinking, in our creativity, in our actions.
What makes this snapshot of who God thinks we are even sweeter is when WE receive Him as our King. . . He wants to keep us to preserve us in His image, to keep us out of the elements or “hardships” of this world, and to hide us from our enemies who want to steal us away.
Let’s go to Isaiah 43:1
But now, this is what the Lord says—
he who created you, Jacob,
he who formed you, Israel:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
The YOU ARE MINE part….let’s start taking that serious….you are NOT….just mom…you are NOT another person walking around….you are NOT a shopper/teacher/coach/book reader or anything else…….but you ARE GOD'S DAUGHTER! You have always beenGod's first.
Yes you may do those things and you may really do enjoy those things….and that is totally ok. But the point im trying to make is that you WERE and ARE Gods first above your team, above your students, above what your family thinks about you, above what your friends think about you…and above what you think about yourself.
We are sinners there is NO doubt about that. . . but the most glorious thing happens when we accept God as our savior …..as our knight in shining armor…..as our rescuer. . . we become perfect!!
In Genesis 1:27 it says
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created man, male and female he created them.
So in our imperfection…..He made us perfect. He made us just like him.
And when we ask Jesus to be our Savior and we actually allow him to be our Savior…..and im talking real surrender here……..not just an “ok god here is my life .. and then we say oh wait God I got this” type of mentality he will keep us out of the elements or hardships of the world.
He made you and me in his image unique with our own personality and way of thinking.
I leave you with one final thought:
Our daughter, is a part of me and a part of my husband. However, this doesn't mean she looks exactly like either one of us or thinks exactly like us either.
Rather, she is made in our image but is uniquely her, and that my dear friends is exactly how God sees you.
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today. I pray that God revives a sense of fresh identity in you today and that you are safe from the flood waters.
