Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
A few weeks ago my family and I took the dogs on an afternoon hike at a local park. We were briskly walking through the hiking trails only because down here in the Gulf Coast of Texas we have mosquitos the size of hippos that try to carry you away.
Long story short after a half hour of hiking the trail ended at a huge field and we walked on the road back towards the truck. We got to the last little stretch of road and had about a 5 minute walk before getting to the truck.
At this point we could either go back into the trails and hike back or stay on the road (mosquito free mind you) to get back. Our 5 year old had the idea that she and I would take the road with the puppy and daddy would take the older lab on the hiking trail and we would race back to the truck.
Our daughter and I were running and then walking and then she wanted to stop to breathe. She turned towards the woods to yell "daddy can you hear us" and I kid you not that same moment my husband was answering "YES" I heard God whisper back to me "YES!"!
So often we ask Christians are walking on the road forgetting that God has been walking alongside us all along. Ladies He really is there.
No we can't physically see him, but he is there watching us. Waiting to answer our calls, waiting to pick us back up, waiting to just walk this crazy life with us. Ya we may stumble in the life, none of us are perfect. But we are not alone, and so love how that spring afternoon God used a simple walk with my family to remind me of that.
