My goodness I don't know about you guys but I feel a bit like a drowned rat. All of this rain is driving me crazy but there is a purpose for rain and when I remember that I can't really complain at all.
Rain gives life.
If we never had rain then how could the sun come out later on to make everything grow. Likewise if we never had the showers of life, how could the heavenly Son, Jesus, come out to give us healing life?
After the rain soaks in and the sun comes out things grow.
There are spring flowers coming popping up. There are nourishing fruits and vegetables that will flower in a few months. . . all of these things need rain.
We need rain. We need it to grow. It washes away all of the junk that we as humans do not need. Its uncomfortable at the time yes but it is so needed. Because when we seek the Son, we feel the warmth of his love giving us the nourishment that we thirst for.
Out of that rain that pours down so heavily sometimes we might feel the coldness from people around us or we might feel the weight of life on top of us just like when we get heavy downpours from the physical rain.
There's a house I pass everyday when I go to work. The foundation has cracked the stone all the way up the side and this morning I noticed that the roof has caved in on two areas. Much like my own home, we've noticed 2 small areas on our ceiling where new water spots have formed. We know now we have an issue with our roof. So while I'm not happy about the money that will be spent to repair it, I'm thankful this was revealed to us.
Rain revealed the issue of our home.
Test and trials from this life reveal the issues of our hearts.
What are your storms you're going through right now?
What victory can you see coming those storms afterwards?
As long as your heart is built on God and His word you will be able to stand the test of anything this life throws at you. Trust me. I've had my fair share. Things do get better and peace can be restored.
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
You're not alone in the storm you have a God who loves who that is right next to you today. He's holding you tight to keep you safe.
Isaiah 4:6 There will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and protection from the storm and the rain.
