My little one is four. Along with being four and a very strong willed I might add, comes hard choices, some tears, lots of independence, determination, lots of energy...and many more things.
I'm so glad my daughter has such a strong will because I know firsthand what God can do with such a powerful personality. Those are all the strengths and signs of being a leader, or missionary or whatever plans God has for her. And we tell her all the time, "Honey, God has something big planned for you."
My daughter in in the process of being shaped and God. He has given my husband and I the keys to the kingdom to pass down to her.
I admit sometimes in those shaping moments I just get so darn frustrated! For example why in the world do you "have" to do this now. Why must you insist that the brown puppy sit on the couch, in the middle, on top of the laundry I am working on . . . right now!!
In those moments that still small voice reminds me..."I'm not only shaping her....I'm shaping you too Mom."
We as parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, pastors....we have been given the responsibility to give Gods kingdom keys to the little people in our lives.
How many times do we snatch those keys out of their hands without realizing it? No wonder generational curses are still around!!! <That's a dangerous spiritual truth right that we don't really want to see.>
Lets break that now and listen to God's word when we feel the need to react in our fleshly emotions.
Let Me invade your natural flesh reaction. Instead of letting your mind run wild with this, sit with Me for a while. Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).
One last thought, each of us was created for Him and by Him. Not one child or person is a mistake. and in accordance with Galatians 5:26 .......... each of us is an original.
