Aren't these gals cute? Its our daughter and her little friend at an Easter egg hunt at church.
I have a circle of friends and then I have my inner circle of friends. The one who know all and people I turn to when I need advice, when my heart hurts, when I need help understanding something and etc.
These inner circle of friends and ones I have known for a very long time. They hold me accountable and I them.
Now moms, I know you are busy and I know your to do list is a mile long but you really do need to make time to feed yourself some good relationship time with your girl friends.
The bible tells us in Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
God created fellowship for us to sharpen each other. To gain knowledge from one another, to well do life together.
Friendships are suppose to mirror our relationship with God. We are to love them as He loved us.
I don't have a lot of time, but my close gal friends and I make it a point that at the very least to schedule some together time. This may be us eating pizza and talking while our daughters play. This may be catching up over the phone on our way home from work. This may be just a simple card in the mail to say hey crazy I love you :) (Yes I am a snail mail user...and I LOVE it!!)
Jesus was the perfect example friendship when he was here living amongst us. He didn't have a ton of friends either but he did have a close circle that he had deep conversations with, broke bread with and prayed deep with.
I encourage you to love those you have near and dear as your friends. Take an hour or a half a day or a dinner night with them.
We draw close to the ones who are most like us. Draw back to them and love them well.
